Are you also tired of exclusively baking cakes with your children? And you wonder what else you could bake?
Here is a quick and easy recipe to make delicious baguettes with your family at home. Ideal when you forget to go to the bakery before 1pm on Sunday lunchtime.
Ingredients you will need:
500g of T45 or T55 flour
2 to 3 teaspoons of salt
400 ml of lukewarm water
10 g of fresh baker’s yeast or 5 g of dry yeast (your choice)
A loaf pan (you can easily make one with baking paper)
The steps of the recipe:
Pour the yeast into a large bowl and dissolve the yeast with the warm water and salt. Be careful, the water must be less than 37° otherwise the heat will kill the yeast.
Add the flour and mix with the handle of a wooden spoon.
Cover the container and let it rest for about 30 minutes in a warm room. The dough should double in volume.
Preheat your oven to 240° fan-assisted. Place a bowl of water at the very bottom of the oven (to be left during cooking).
While waiting for your oven to heat up, shape your 4 baguettes and place them on your floured mold. The dough should stick to your hands.
Slice your baguettes with a wet knife and flour the tops.
Bake your baguettes in the lowest part of the oven for 20/25 minutes, closing it quickly. Be careful not to open the oven door during cooking.
Enjoy your baguettes for breakfast, as an aperitif or as a snack, depending on your preferences and those of your children.
Guaranteed success
