Candice Merlet is a young woman who has a lot of ideas. At thirty-two, she is already a mother, has held positions of responsibility in large companies and has just launched into entrepreneurship. Frustrated during her pregnancy by not being able to dress as she would have liked, she created her own brand of clothing for pregnant women, Neuvième Ciel.
Candice grew up in Vendée, a department to which she is attached. Beyond her family roots, she finds the region magnificent and ideal for recharging her batteries. She loves its simplicity, its wild side and its quality of life. As a child, she attended a small school and remembers her grandmother taking her to the beach after school. At the age of 7, she came to live in Paris. She continued her education in a middle school in the Paris suburbs and went to high school at the Ecole Active Bilingue de Paris. After two years of HEC Prep, where she strove to get the best results, she was accepted at EM Lyon.
It was in this great business school that she met extraordinary people, friends but also professors and speakers who would guide her steps in the professional world. " I met great bosses, former students of EM Lyon, who made me dream from my seat in the lecture hall, not only because of what they had managed to build professionally but also because of their human side, which is, in my eyes, a real asset and a rare quality in the world of today's large companies ."
Her mother, a stylist and passionate about her work, passed on to her a taste for fashion and the desire to get up every morning happy to practice her profession.
After EM Lyon, she began a career in Luxury at Cartier and Chanel where she worked as a Business Analyst. She then chose to move into Strategy Consulting in order to broaden her field of expertise. A difficult field for a young woman, but Candice likes to set high goals for herself.
In 2016, while she was on maternity leave, entrepreneurship called her as a vital need. Having been unable to dress to her taste during her pregnancy, she noticed a gap in the market for maternity clothing and decided to launch her own brand, Neuvième Ciel, in March 2017. A brand intended for women who like to feel beautiful and feminine during these nine months.
